Overview of Quick Lime Production
Active lime is produced from limestone, dolomite, chalk and other minerals with high calcium carbonate content by the calcination process under the temperature of 1000-1100 ° C. There are various processes for the active lime production, mainly including: Advanced 'Preheater-Rotary kiln-Vertical cooler' energy-saving process, Traditional 'long rotary lime kiln' process, Mixed buring vertical kiln process, Gas-fired or oil-fired vertical kiln process. The selection of the active lime process is effected by many factors, such as : the activity requirement, the fuel, the limestone sizes, production capacity, environmental-protection requirement.
The equipments of lime production line:
1. Raw Material grinding equipment,ball mill
The Raw material need to be grinded to a certain fineness,in order to be match the next step.
2. Limestone Calcination equipment,rotary kiln
The limestone calcining system is mainly made up of vertical preheater, rotary kiln and vertical cooler whose output is 600t/d and heat consumption of 5.75GJ/t. In the preheater limestone is heated by high-temperature air to 600-800°C, at which temperature limestone can be partly decomposed. This will increase the work efficiency of rotary kiln and reduce the cost. Then the limestone will be sent into the rotary kiln, where it will undergo high-temperature calcination before sent to the vertical cooler. The processed lime will be cooled down with cold air to 65°C. Air from the vertical cooler enters into the rotary kiln as the second air to take part in calcining process.
3. Finished Product Conveying
The final lime will be sent to the silo as final products by bucket elevator. After screening, qualified lime whose particle size is bigger than 5mm will be sent to storage for active lime, while powder lime whose size is smaller than 5mm will be sent to storage bin for powder.
